Why do we adjust kids? Especially when they have nothing going on?
Well first off, kids often do have stuff going on and much of it runs under the radar of most people. They’re constantly trying to adapt to ever changing circumstances. Think about it. When you are an adult, your body doesn’t change a whole lot. Although as you get older, some things will change but not quickly. As a child, your body will continue to grow and change for up to 25 years before it finally settles into the shape and size that it will be, more or less, for the rest of your life.
There are physical changes, emotional changes, hormonal changes, mental changes, you name it. These changes are especially pronounced in the first few years of life. Chiropractic can help manage all of those changes, helping kids to adapt to their environment, and to themselves.
But, why adjust babies?
Birth is traumatic. No way around it, babies go from a completely nurturing, safe, all needs cared for type of environment to one where it’s cold, dry, they get hungry, and they have to wear diapers. I mean seriously, who signs up for this?
Babies are pretty flexible little beings, and we want to make sure they are working as well as possible to meet the demands of development that are already working during their fourth trimester.
As kids get older, they encounter different kinds of stress to which they must adapt, including:
- Walking
- Backpacks
- School
- Teeth
- Diseases
- Running
- Sports
- Falling
- Learning difficulties
- Staying still
- Behavior changes
Chiropractic does not fix any of these things, but it can help our young people adapt to them more readily.
Common things that kids are diagnosed with that Chiropractic has been demonstrated to make a difference with include:
- ADD
- Allergies
- Asthma
- Anxiety
- Nursing troubles
- Bedwetting
- Pains of all kinds
- Colic
- Constipation
- Ear infections
And many others. So, don’t wait, and get your kids to the Chiropractic today!
